July 19, 2024 "The Whenever Report"

The page shall henceforth be known as the “Whenever Report” since there is NO way I’ll ever make a “weekly” report

The beginning of this week had marked the lowest water level of the season so far at roughly 1.75 - 2 feet below normal. The base of the docks were laying on the ground, the stumps were easily impacted, and you could have driven a truck across the Train Trestle. However, over the course of the week, the water level has almost risen back up to its normal state and is roughly 3 inches lower than “normal”.

Fishing has remained good as usual and the fish seem to be scattered and feeding nearly everywhere in all types of water. I have asked 20 different groups what kind of lures/colors they are catching fish with and I have received 20 different answers. The ol’ “just use what you are comfortable using” is holding steady.

The only thing to note that i have heard more than a few times this year is that the fish aren’t directly up against the shore as much as usual so be prepared to back off the shoreline a bit during your stay. Not sure if the water level rising will change that back but that information will be in the next Whenever Report coming to you…. well…. whenever…
